Popping Instructions

Pan Method Use a medium to large-sized pan with a lid to cover.  Place 2-3 Tablespoons of oil in the bottom of the pan and add three kernels.  Cover with the lid. Turn the heat to medium-high and wait for the kernels to pop.  Once they pop add 1/3-1/2 cup of popcorn to the pan, enough to cover the bottom of the pan.  Replace the lid. Gently shake pan on the burner to move the kernels. Remove the pan from heat once the kernels stop popping. Place popcorn in a bowl and season to taste. This is heirloom popcorn so not all kernels will pop.  The hulls are soft when heated and can be eaten even when not popped. If you have an electric popper or hot air popper follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Warning Popcorn is a nutritious snack but is not recommended for infants and toddlers.  The popped kernels can be a choking risk.
